Field, Pool and Surrounding Areas

Field, Pool and Surrounding Areas

If you’re in Okinawa with kids, there’s no better place to be than Imgya Coral Village Resort. It’s surrounded by nature, and children are encouraged to participate in the many activities organized in the fields on and around the resort grounds. When they’re not taking part in treasure hunts or playing rolling ice ball games, kids can try Eisa drumming, practice riding bicycles or learn some crafts.

More mature children can ride Segways, enter kids photo contests or learn traditional Okinawan dance. Kids can take swimming lessons in the pool on the resort, or even go kayaking in the ocean. Those who are up for a real adventure can go on a guided excursion searching for sea anemones on the reefs not far from shore. As Imgya Coral Village doesn’t offer daycare or babysitting services, parents with small children should be especially careful to keep a close eye on them at all times.

Imgya Marine Garden

Imgya Marine Garden
One of the main attractions of the resort is Imgya Marine Garden, the national park right near the facility. At the heart of the park is an enchanting natural cove with a sandy beach which is ideal for a family swim. Sheltered by an all-natural peninsula, the water inside the inlet is always calm, even on windy days, making for a safe and fun swim. Fish and coral are plentiful on the inner reefs, making Imgya Marine Garden a perfect place for a family outing.

Other Activities

Activities
Of course, family-friendly resorts in Okinawa (or anywhere, for that matter!) shouldn’t be just for kids—fortunately, there are all kinds of fantastic activities at Imgya Coral Village Resort for adults to enjoy. Miyakojima is home to some of the most incredible beaches in Japan and the truly dazzling ocean views that come with them. For those who like getting wet, there are scuba shops which specialize in taking tourists on try-dives and others catering to more advanced divers. Or there’s always a morning of deep sea fishing for those who can manage to steal a few hours away from the family. Golfers can enjoy the peerless ocean views from every hole on Shigira Resort’s very own world-class golf course, considered one of the most beautiful courses in Japan.

This Family-friendly Resort is Just Part of What Miyakojima Has to Offer

Remember, as incredible and varied as it is, Imgya Coral Village is only one tiny little corner of Miyakojima. The island is home to all kinds of amazing adventures, including a German village, a craft center where kids can try pottery and make shisa lions, and even a marine park where children too young to go in the ocean can watch fish swim in their own habitat.  Bring your family to Miyakojima for your next vacation and experience all the wonders this incredible island has to offer.
